about
Biography

Katherine Carver was born in the Midwest, where she was first introduced to photography.  She spent every free moment in the darkroom during high school; and she continued taking photography courses during college.  In 2011, she found herself behind the lens of her camera immersed in creating photographs of her first dog, Biscuit, pictured on the left.  Biscuit inspired Katherine's great passion, interest, curiosity, and study of dogs in her work.  Katherine earned her Juris Doctor, with Honor, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

Katherine's photographs have been published in international publications including, the Huffington Post; L'Oeil de la Photographie; Four&Sons; Petsblog II magazine per i pet lovers di BLOGO; ClickBlog II magazine fotografico di BLOGO; and My Modern Met.  You can view Katherine's recent interviews here and here.

Katherine believes that animals and humans are deeply interconnected and there is room for even greater understanding.  Katherine is presently working her debut book to be released by the publisher during the fall of 2024, which focuses on a long-term photography project employing dogs as her subject, further studying the relationship between dogs and humans.  Katherine is also the Founder and Editor of biscuit's space, a popular blog, curated with a strong artistic ‘dog-centric’ flair.  Katherine presently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her husband, daughter, and muse, Victory
